How To Style Checked Trousers

checked trousers

Hello lovelies! I hope you’ve all had a fabulous Christmas and enjoyed yourself with loved ones! I was in a big debate with myself for what to post today. Yes, believe it or not I made the decision myself instead of tweeting a poll on Twitter…
But I’ve got lots of fashion posts lined up so I thought I’d dive right into them. I’ve loved planning them all as I’ve missed my fashion posts! My goal is to post more fashion posts on my blog so hopefully I can stick to it.

The Trousers;

This outfit is quite different for me however, I’m kinda liking it. I love the main piece of this outfit which are these checked trousers. When I saw these ‘Checked  jacquard trousers with side stripe detail‘ from Stradivarius it was love at first sight. I was really undecided about the trousers but for only £18 and the them being my favourite that I’ve seen so far, I had to get the them. They’re a simple check pattern which are mainly grey and black. But have some pink stripes in which give them some more colour. As well as this they have a black stripe down the outside of each leg. I love this as it gives them more shape down your leg and a bold colour that breaks up the checked pattern.
The trousers are so ridiculously comfy, with an elasticated waistband they fit perfectly and they’re not too tight from the slim fit so I can happily wear the trousers all day long. (I wore them for Christmas so I could eat all the food in the world whilst being comfy).

The Top & Jacket;

I wore a simple black roll neck from Primark as I’m the biggest lover of a roll neck because they’re the warmest things ever and I love the simple black against the checks. Because of the loose fit trousers a tight roll neck is ideal as it gives shape. In winter I live in roll necks however I always regret it when I’m shopping and want to try a top on, literally impossible…
I paired the top and trousers with my Distressed Blue Denim Jacket from Boohoo which goes perfectly with the outfit. I love the contrast of the denim against the checks. It’s a really simple combination but the denim jacket with all the rips in makes the look more casual.

The Accessories;

And lastly I wore my two favourites, my Black Vans Old Skool Trainers as well as my Guess Black Sling Backpack. Which has been a current love of mine, if you haven’t guessed from this being the third post in a row where I’ve worn it… The black accessories go really well as they match the black stripe and black top. But the outfits not too plain as I think the checked trousers are more of a statement for me. These trousers have been a big favourite of mine so I will definitely be wearing this outfit a lot!

See you all on Sunday for my last post of 2017, which is absolutely mad!
