Styling The Baker Boy Hat

I’ve been trying to be a bit more ‘me’ in my fashion sense at the moment and I’ve loved the baker boy hats that have been super popular recently and I was so undecided but after Caitlin persuading (she didn’t have to try hard!!) me on Twitter I decided to order one. I was and still am quite undecided about the hat as I sometimes see it on myself and love how it looks but then sometimes it’s the complete opposite and I hate how it looks but I think I just need to be more confident and wear it!

So that hat is the Black Baker Boy Hat from PrettyLittleThing and was £10 which I think is alright value however it’s justified as it’s really good quality and I can see it lasting for years on end! It’s a super simple hat and part of me wishes it had some detailing on however as the hats a statement in itself for me, the all black keeps it simple and bit more subtle. And the best thing about the hat is that it hid the big spot on my forehead which I was pretty chuffed about!!

I kept the outfit simple so I wore simple pieces to give a casual ‘city chic’ look so I wore this White T-shirt from H&M which as cross tie and eyelet detailing on both sides at the both bottom sides of the top. I love this top as it’s super simple as of the plain front but the eyelets at each side give it detail and I love the long ties as I tie them loosely so they hang down just past my jacket.

I wore the top with my Topshop Blue Ripped Jamie Jeans and I tucked the top in loosely in the middle so the top didn’t hang too low. I wasn’t a big fan of my jeans with this look, I feel like they just look a bit average but on the whole they’re okay with the whole outfit! And I wore my Topshop Thin Black Belt as always which you could just see under the top and I definitely think it’s the little details like the belt that make the whole outfit come together and I can’t remember the last time I didn’t wear a belt, honestly if you don’t wear a belt you need to get wearing a belt (they’re life (outfit) changing) !

And obviously for the jacket I’m wearing my Zara Faux Leather Biker Jacket (read more on it here) which is one of my fashion favourites at the moment and I love wearing it as it’s so comfy and warm as well as it’s such a gorgeous jacket. I think this jacket suits the baker boy hat perfectly and I think the hat and jacket will be my new favourite combination for this season. And under the jacket I wore my Black Cross Body Bag from Primark which I wore under my jacket so it didn’t fall of my jacket shoulder as well as I prefer the layered look it gives from wearing it under my jacket.

And of course to finish off the whole look on my feet I’m wearing my Vans Old Skool Trainers (shock horror…) which I clearly live in but they’re so comfy and go with anything and everything! I was thinking of wearing my Chelsea boots however I thought my Vans would give it more of a casual and street vibe. So that’s the overall look which I’m really happy with and it will definitely be one of my go-to looks for autumn and winter.
