What I Wore To The Races

Hello my lovelies! Today I have fashion post (which I’m trying to do more of but failing due to lack of photos…) that I’ve been looking forward to for a while as I’d bought the skirt ages ago so I couldn’t wait to wear it!!
So yesterday I went to the races which was for my Grandad’s birthday and I’d never been before and I really enjoyed myself and I thought I might as well do a post on my outfit considering it’s different to my usual boring casual outfits!

The skirt I was wearing is the Premium Nude Floral Lace Midi Skirt from Missguided which I luckily bought for £10.50 from £30 which I was pretty chuffed about! It’s a nude midi skirt with a lace over lay which is made from a golden nude shade. The lace over the skirt has a floral pattern on it which is made up of little leaves and where the under skirt finishes the lace is broke up by three rows of little circles and then the lace carries on for a tiny bit more.
I’ve never worn a midi skirt before but I loved how it looked and it still didn’t feel too long as of the slit at the back and the under layer stops above the knee leaving the layer of lace to carry on just past your knee.

I paired the skirt with this Zara Black Off The Shoulder Top which I wasn’t a big fan of with the outfit as it was a last minute decision as the top I ordered didn’t fit… However I do love this top as it’s simple but the elasticated edge around the shoulders is quite big and the frills on each side of it make it look more detailed. This top is also such good quality, I bought it for £7.99 and the material really thick and Zara quality is always top notch!

On my feet I wore my heeled sandals from Zara which are a salmon-pink shade and have a thick strap across your toes and a thinner strap around your ankle as well as a thick strap around the back of your ankle. They’re simple but I love the salmon shade of them as well as the suede material that they’re made out of. I bought them last year and it’s only the second time I’ve worn them but I love these shoes and they’re so comfy to wear for the whole day. I love the heel on them as well as it curves in which I prefer to a block heel as it doesn’t look as chunky and big.

So that was my outfit that I wore for the races, I love getting dressed up and doing my makeup for days out like this especially when I have the excuse to buy new clothes! And sorry the pictures aren’t amazing, typical me was too rushed getting ready!

Have you ever been to the races?
